What is underfloor heating?
Underfloor heating is a way of heating your home through a network of durable plastic pipes that are installed under the flooring. Each room with underfloor heating will have it's own dedicated circuit of underfloor heating pipe that connects back to a manifold. This turns the floor into a giant heat emitter, because the floor area is a lot bigger than a standard heat emitter (radiator), the flow temperature can be a lot lower. In a standard home with average insulation, the flow temperature is usually around 40°C. This reduces your energy bill by about 25%. In a standard underfloor heating installation, each room will have thermostatic control which means you can control the temperature of each room individually. The advantage of this compared to radiators is that you only heat the rooms you want heated.
